Herf Consulting does software development, technology licensing, and "Roving R&D."

That means we fill a lot of technology gaps for software development.

We're involved in two kinds of work. First, we consult on new products and existing ones, adding functionality, making improvements, and implementing new features, from prototype through shipping.

Second, we develop our own intellectual property and offer it for license and integration.

Our existing I.P. base includes technology for producing visually rich user interface, graphics and image processing, and 3-D interface and utility libraries.

We work extremely fast and specialize in graphics problems. We can solve hard algorithmic bottlenecks for you, design new systems, can advise about most aspects of your software, UI, or technology.

We don't usually do backend or server programming. Our experience includes Windows, Linux, SGI, and our partners can provide cross-platform Mac support.

We also subcontract visual design work.

Particular areas of interest involve the application of computationally-intensive imaging and 3-D to interaction and information visualization.
